Sell-out Crowd Packs Enrichment Center For Karl DeanInaugural Williamson County Democratic Party Dinner raises more than $20,000

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – More than 260 Democrats packed the Williamson County Enrichment Center Saturday night for the Williamson County Democratic Party’s Hugh Williamson Unity Dinner.

Karl Dean, Democratic nominee for governor, was the keynote speaker. Also speaking during the program was Justin Kanew, Democratic nominee for Congress in District 7.

“I’m convinced the state wants someone who’s going to be pragmatic, have common sense and who’s going to work on the issues that matter to the voters,” Dean said. “What people want is to have better lives. That means focusing on things that matter to people in their lives. Now, if you talk to people you meet with as you travel, they care about the basics. They care about having good schools, they care about health care, they care about jobs and better jobs.”

Honored at the event was longtime local community and political activist Frances Patton. The WCDP created a scholarship in her name to send one Williamson County woman through training with Emerge Tennessee, the premier Democratic candidate training program in the state.

Tracy Halloran, who served as director of Meals on Wheels in Williamson County, was honored with the Chairman’s Award for outstanding service to the community and the WCDP, and restaurateur Tom Morales received the Community Partner Award.

The inaugural fundraising event raised just over $20,000, said WCDP Chair Holly McCall.

“We could have sold more tickets with a bigger space: the large, enthusiastic crowd proves there’s a desire here to have equal and fair representation by both political parties,” said McCall. “We will invest the money we raised into technology and services to help Democratic candidates in November and future elections.”

BONE CAMPAIGN RAISES NEARLY $1.1 MILLION IN INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTIONS

Impressive fundraising totals signal widespread support across Davidson County

NASHVILLE, TN – Charles Robert Bone announced today his campaign has raised nearly $1.1 million from donors in the past year.

For the quarterly fundraising period ending June 30, Bone’s campaign raised over $330,000, the campaign’s best quarter to date, and a sure sign voters are continuing to gravitate towards Bone. The high fundraising totals by individual contributors is an especially impressive feat considering the campaign has been actively fundraising since last May, and it is exemplary of the incredible momentum and energy the campaign has shown in recent weeks.

“Nearly 2,000 supporters have invested in our campaign, a clear indication of our campaign’s success connecting with voters,” Bone said. “We’re out knocking on doors and visiting each and every neighborhood and community in Davidson County, and our campaign’s vision that every Nashvillian should have the opportunity to share in our city’s success is peaking at just the right time.”

Bone, who announced his campaign totals well ahead of the July 10 financial disclosure deadline, said the figure tracks with fundraising projections and goals set last summer when he announced his candidacy for mayor.

“There’s more to a successful campaign than money, but I’m honored and grateful that so many people are willing to donate whatever they can to help assure our success,” he said. “I’ve committed to being a good steward of those investments, and we will keep our foot on the gas through the election.”

The deadline to register to vote is July 7, and early voting begins July 17. Election Day is Thursday, August 6. For more information on Bone’s campaign, please visit the campaign website here: https://www.boneformayor.com/.
